# Outside the window
Agents keep working while you are in another app. Heed lets you know when one needs you, and gets you back in a key.
- [The menu bar](https://docs-v3-preview.elastic.dev/outside-the-window/menu-bar): an owl that counts what needs you.
- [The Dock](https://docs-v3-preview.elastic.dev/outside-the-window/dock): the same count, as a badge.
- [Global shortcuts](https://docs-v3-preview.elastic.dev/outside-the-window/global-shortcuts): Start work from any app, and Heed to the front.
